Emergency Information

The Incident Response Guide has been designed to provide the campus community with guidance when responding to emergency incidents on campus.  While this guide cannot cover all specific incidents, it serves to supply basic guidelines necessary for many campus incidents. It is essential for the Worcester State University community to be proactive by becoming familiar with, and utilizing the information contained in this guide.

Campus response prior, during and after an  incident will be conducted within the framework of existing university policies and procedures.  Any exception will be conducted by, or with approval of, those university administrators directing and/or coordinating the response.  A copy of this guide is available as a PDF by clicking here.

The goals of the Incident Response Guide are:

  • To provide guidance to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all members of the WSU community, protect the environment, and mitigate potential damage in the incident of an incident.
  • To provide a coordinated response to incidents that may impact the community and/or the campus environment.      
  • To provide for the essential needs of the campus community during and following an incident.

These goals are facilitated by the University Police Department and members of WSU’s Incident Management Team (IMT). The IMT is comprised of personnel representing all divisions of the university including, but not limited to, University Police, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, University Technology, Administration and Finance, and Facilities.
